Singing In The Rain is a classic 1952 film, often described as the best musical film of all time, was produced during the golden age of musicals and starred Gene Kelly. It tells the story of the movie industry preparing itself for the imminent introduction of audio to movies that were at the time referred to as 'talkies' and how a certain star who had the looks for movies, now didn't have the voice that was suddenly needed to be an actress.
This musical theatre production of Singing In The Rain has been produced by Stage Entertainment UK and is directed by Jonathan Church. This production of Singing In The Rain was originally performed at the Chichester Festival Theatre and after a sell-out run in 2011 is being transferred to the Palace Theatre in London's West End.
Scarlett Strallen, who has recently acted in West End productions of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Mary Poppins, is starring as the infamous Lina Lamont while Don Lockwood is being played by Adam Cooper, a renowned dancer and choreographer who has seen previous success in the West End musical productions of Guys and Dolls as well as The Wizard of Oz.
