Based on the classic 2001 CGI film Shrek, this relatively new musical has gone on to become one of the most popular in the West End.
Shrek the Musical has an interesting cast starring Britain's Got Talent panelist Amanda Holden as Princess Fiona and Richard Blackwood as Donkey. The dragon in this musical is a seriously impressive piece of technical theatre production made up of four seperate puppeteers in the technique of a traditional Chinese festival dragon.
It's definitely one of the better of the recent musicals to make it to the West End and like the hit film, has a universal appeal with a lot of the humour working on different levels.
If you've got a busy schedule during your stay in London and want to know how long Shrek the Musical is? Well I can tell you it's 2 hours 30 minutes including a 15 minute interval. That's on the short side of average for a West End musical so it's perfect for families with young children.
Shrek the Musical's opening night was on the 14th of June 2011 and tickets are currently on sale up up until the 21st of October 2012. You can find tickets here.
