Tickets are now on sale for The Royal Shakespeare Company's (RSC) production of Matilda.
This musical started it's life at The Courtyard Theatre and after a sell-out season, this musical is set to open again in October in London's West End, the heart of British musicals.
Based on Roald Dahl's massively popular children's book Matilda, this musical sees Miss Honey being played by Lauren Ward, Mr Wormwood by Paul Kaye and Bertie Carvel as the infamous Miss Trunchbull. The girl set to play Matilda is as of yet unconfirmed.
The music and lyrics of Matilda The Musical were written by Australian comedian and musician Tim Minchin which should add an interesting and alternative edge to this classic Dahl story.
Matilda The Musical's opening night will be on the 22nd of November 2011. Tickets are currently on sale up until the 12th of February 2012 but I think this quality production of such an iconic story will run for considerably longer.
Perfect for the whole family and with tickets starting at just £15, this is definitely a must see musical. Matinee performances on Saturdays and most Wednesdays and group ticket discounts are often available.
